About Shaked
Shaked Dahan was one of those people.
He had a permanent smile, shy, striking, and quietly
infectious,
and a noble heart that accepted everyone
without judgment. He moved through life with care,
curiosity, and deep humanity. Shaked made people feel seen.
Officially listed as being from Afula, Shaked grew up in Kfar Tavor and graduated from the Kaduri Agricultural High School.
He was born on February 4, 2004, the 12th of Shevat 5764. He loved computer games, played the guitar, followed Maccabi Haifa with devotion, and enjoyed going out, laughing, and celebrating life.
He dreamed of becoming a businessman.
What made those who loved him most proud was his character: his love and care for others, his ability to make peace, his quiet pursuit of justice, his acceptance of everyone, and his striking smile and noble soul.
Every moment spent with Shaked became a cherished memory.
Military Service
Sergeant, 7th Armored Brigade
Shaked enlisted in the IDF on August 10, 2022 and served as a tank driver in the 7th Armored Brigade, Battalion 77.
After his death, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
He was known among his commanders and crew for his professionalism, responsibility, and calm. He never complained and met every challenge with seriousness and dedication.

October 7, 2023
On the morning of October 7, 2023, Shaked and his crew responded to the attack unfolding along the Gaza border.
Shaked was the driver of Tank 3.
The crew was stationed at the
“White House” military post between Kibbutz Nir Oz
and Kibbutz Nirim.
They set out in their tank to defend the surrounding communities. During the battle, the tank experienced a braking problem and was attacked with RPG fire and explosive devices.

Shaked was killed during the battle near Nir Oz. His body was taken into Gaza following the attack.
On August 28, 2024, Shaked’s body was recovered and returned to Israel, allowing him to be laid to rest in his homeland.

Forever Nineteen
Shaked Dahan was 19 years old when he fell.
He was laid to rest in his homeland.
He is survived by his parents and four siblings.
Though Shaked was taken from those who loved him, his spirit remains in the people he touched, in the values he lived by, and in the country he gave his life to defend.
Shaked lived with a quiet determination to be good and to protect others. On that morning, he showed the courage and devotion that defined him.
Crowned with almond blossoms, a family tribute remembers Shaked as sensitive, honest, humble, and deeply loving. He was born on the 12th of Shevat 5764, a season of almond blossoms, renewal, and quiet grace.
His care for others always came before his own. When they shopped together, he insisted his mother buy something for herself first.
Three days before that Black Shabbat, Shaked sat with his father. They talked, ate and laughed together. Shaked promised to buy his father’s favorite cologne for his birthday. His father told him that it was too expensive, but he knew Shaked would not forget.
The almond tree will continue to bloom in his honor. There is a time to plant and a time to uproot. Shaked was taken, but his memory will be planted forever.
