The Lives We Honour

They came from different places, each with their own journey and dreams.
Some were soldiers, some artists, some were free spirits dancing at sunrise.
Others were protectors, healers, friends, siblings and children.
Their lives were all different.
But they shared something deep:

A love of family and friends, and

A quiet courage that showed up in big and small ways.

They were the heart of their homes,

The light in their communities,

The ones who lifted others up, who gave, who opened their arms to life.
Though they were taken too soon, their light has not gone out.
It’s still shining, in every story we tell, every memory we honour, and in every person who carries them on.
